I trust every single person; I believe they will do what they need to do, and there are no mistakes.

Qian Mi once grabbed my hand and said, “Wei, you are too easy to trust people. You are a woman and need to learn to protect yourself. There are many bad people in this world, and they will hurt you and take advantage of you at any time.”

I understood what she meant, but it was not my character. My heart remains in alignment with reality; in my eyes, the world is not conflicting, it has always been friendly. I am not guarded against anyone because I have never suffered any real harm.

Even when my ex-husband hit me, I did not feel any damage. Instead, his twisted and angry face made me feel that he was hurt. He was abusing himself but didn’t realize it.

In his eyes, I didn’t love him. He always yelled at me, saying that I shouldn’t have done this or that, that I did things wrong.

In my eyes, he was a child. He was yearning for love but couldn’t find the right way. His thoughts always ignore reality; he was not at fault, but just not mature enough.

I once asked myself, if one day I was cut a thousand times, would I hate that person? My answer is no. If it’s the “will of the Dao”, I am willing to be shattered into billions of pieces, only to exist as light and shine on every person.

Under that light, all pain will disappear. I am well aware that there has never been any real pain, even when my ex-husband hit me so heavily, it was just a thought for me at that moment. My mind tells me what happened in the past, but I cannot prove that it really existed.

After working for two weeks, Mr. Sun called me to his office again. He said that he wanted to promote me due to my outstanding performance and asked for my opinion. I said I had no objections and would follow the arrangements made by the leader.

Mr. Sun looked very pleased, rubbing his white and plump hands. He asked me to go to the hospital for a physical examination first. After receiving the examination report, he would immediately hire me as a formal employee of the mall.

He designated a hospital for me, saying that the director was his good friend and would take special care of me. I had no reason to refuse his kindness, so I went to the hospital for a physical examination the next day. Unexpectedly, it took me five full days to finish the examination.

Entering the mall, I went straight to the restroom on the first floor and saw Sister Mei cleaning the bathroom. I handed her the children’s shoes and said they were a gift for her daughter.

Sister Mei was surprised by my gesture. She put down the mop and took off her rubber gloves, carefully opening the packaging bag. When she saw the delicate children’s shoes, her eyes became instantly teary. She thanked me incoherently and asked me to follow her to the employee lounge. Tongtong was there; she hoped her child could express gratitude to me. I looked at the time and nodded in agreement.

Sister Mei is two years older than me and works as a cleaner in the mall. Two weeks ago, I met an eight-year-old girl in the pantry. She had bright, starry eyes and fair skin tinged with a hint of pink, which gave her a gentle and lovable look.

At that time, she was about to pour hot water into a cup, and when I saw her, I quickly went up to help her. She smiled at me without saying a word. After the hot water was poured, I twisted the cup tightly and gave it back to her. She took it with a smile. Her long eyelashes trembled slightly, and her big eyes sparkled as if expressing gratitude.

I affectionately rubbed her head and said, “Sweetheart, what is your name?” She blinked at me, and I instantly understood her meaning–she wanted me to follow her.

She walked ahead, holding the cup in her hands, and I followed quietly beside her. I asked if I could help her carry the cup, but she shook her head and declined.

We arrived at the restroom on the first floor together, and she handed the cup over to her mother. That day, I met Sister Mei and her daughter, Tongtong. Sister Mei came from an impoverished family and was voluntarily working for a reduced salary.

Tongtong, her daughter with her first husband, was born handicapped and couldn’t speak, only hearing faint sounds. Her first husband divorced Sister Mei because of Tongtong’s disability.

Later, Sister Mei remarried her current husband, and Tongtong has been with her ever since. Her second husband favored boys over girls. When Sister Mei was pregnant, he wanted a son. After they had a son, her husband became increasingly dissatisfied with Tongtong, often beating and scolding her. Tongtong is now eight years old and cannot afford to go to school. Her younger brother is five years old and can attend kindergarten.

As Sister Mei and I walked into the lounge, Tongtong was standing in front of a table drawing. When she saw me, her eyes brightened noticeably, and she pulled my arm towards her artwork, her jubilant expression so endearing.

It was a pure pencil drawing with smooth lines, rich variations, clear light and dark relationships, and distinct spatial levels. The location was the pantry, and a woman was handing a cup to a little girl. They both had smiles on their faces, their gazes intertwined as if transcending time and space.

I was stunned. The woman in the drawing had elegant brows, a slight uplift of the mouth, and sparkling eyes, resembling myself. And as for the little girl, it was undoubtedly Tongtong.

Sister Mei exclaimed, “This child has a special connection with you. I’ve been working with her for so long, and I’ve never seen her approach anyone or draw pictures for anyone else.” She then handed Tongtong a pair of children’s shoes and asked, “Honey, do you like the gift from Auntie Wei?”

Tongtong’s eyes lit up with joy and excitement. She looked at me and then at her mother, nodding vigorously. She eagerly put on the new shoes and twirled around me for three circles, expressing her inner joy and gratitude. She gave me the drawing as a gift, and our eyes met once again.

The moment was sacred and generous, seemingly eternal. The experience of love was so immense and intense that I could barely control my tears. She was also looking at me. I didn’t know if it was an illusion or not, but she seemed to understand everything about me and gave me a warm embrace.

I heard myself say softly, “Thank you!” How can such gratitude be expressed with only a simple “thank you”? But it was enough. Any more words would be superfluous because our hearts were already filled with love, and we were just children.

After bidding farewell to Sister Mei and Tongtong, I went up to the third floor, ready to work at the boutique furniture store. At a corner, I coincidentally met HR Director Lu Chen giving a motivational talk to more than twenty sales staff.

"With so many people in the world, what makes you think you can be successful? You must remember that having a lofty goal is very important. You must have the desire to achieve it. We not only need more but also want more. Humans are born with weaknesses, and to become extraordinary, we must constantly fight our weaknesses until we overcome them.

"Today, I will tell you the secret to success: Belief in yourself forever! Repeat it every day, ‘I will succeed, I will succeed,’ and you will definitely succeed. Belief is the greatest power. Whatever you believe in, you will receive it. This is the law of attraction. We will always attract people or events with similar frequencies. As long as you dare to dream, no matter what kind of life you want, you can get it. The universe will pay for you!"

She was tall and sturdy with a compelling and passionate speech.
